Equipment: What you need to use Nanome
To use Nanome and get the best experience in VR, you need:
1. VR headset

- Varjo XR-4(not yet fully functional)

- Function: The controls are used to manipulate and adjust molecules, navigate the app and perform various commands.

3. Meta Quest 3 or VR station

- With Meta Quest 3: Launch the Nanome app in the headset
- With Varjo: Use PC and launch SteamVR.

- Internet connection is required for Nanome to work. In the XR Lab, the devices are automatically connected to a VR network.
- If you borrow a Meta Quest device, connect it to your home network (WiFi) before starting Nanome
5. tips of options for the best experience:
- Extra space: Make sure you have enough physical space to move around freely while using VR.
- Headphones: For a more immersive experience, use headphones that can provide good sound quality.
Nanome: Meta Quest 3 or Varjo?
Meta Quest 3
- Recommended for first time users
- Easier to get started with
- Wireless VR experience
- Controls are working better (for now)
- Meta Quest 3 has lower resolution (harder to see some details)
- Limited processing power (can be slow for more complex models)
- Files must be uploaded via Nanome (Cloud upload)
Varjo XR-4 (SteamVR)
- Recommended for advanced users
- Good performance for more complex models
- Much higher resolution
- Access to local files on your computer
- Wired
- Controls and hand tracking are more difficult
- Limited processing power (can be slow for more complex models)
